Major Alabama Cities - Criminal History Records
Criminal history records for Alabama city residents are filed with the Circuit Court Clerk in the county where the person lives or where the crime occurred. For example, if you live in Birmingham and were caught there, Jefferson County Circuit Clerk gets your case. If you were caught in another county while out of town, that county files the case. Municipal courts handle city rules and minor traffic issues. Municipal court cases don't show in ALEA background checks since they use city codes not state criminal laws.
